As im sure you have already read/heard, the NACA process is NOT fast. It is no uncommon for people to want to change mortgage counselors.
It very well may be the slowest mortgage product on the market. However, this also comes with terms that are unmatchable in the industry.
Generally, changing MC’s is not an option unless there are extreme circumstances involved. The Remote Counseling program was created to help reduce the load on the most overwhelmed offices.
As such, even if you were to be transferred to a local MC it may not be of any practical benefit. All of NACA’s counselors are overloaded because of the extreme demand for their services. This is why patience and persistence are the two most powerful tools any NACA member has in this process.
Should you feel that your issues with your counselor are extreme, you can reach out to member services, or your office manager.
Remember, most times it is best to simply put your head down, do what is requested, and simply plow through the NACA process. The NACA process can already be a challenge in itself. I like to always say you have control of your attitude in any situation.
